Camera and Microphone Support

Your home for audio and video related support.

Please choose from the following based on your device or web browser.

 

 

Mac

Enable your camera and microphone on your Mac computer. 
  1. Click the Apple icon in the menu bar, then select to "System Preferences." 
  2. Select the "Security & Privacy" icon. 
  3. Under the "Privacy" tab, select "Camera."
  4. Check the box next to the browser you wish to access ARC with. If the application is currently open, you will be prompted to "Quit & Reopen" the browser.
  5. Under the "Privacy" tab, select "Microphone."
  6. Check the box next to the browser you wish to access ARC with. If the application is currently open, you will be prompted to "Quit & Reopen" the browser.

Windows

Enable your camera and microphone on your Windows computer. 

  1. Click the Windows icon in the bottom left corner of the taskbar. 
  2. In the search bar, type "Camera Privacy Settings," and select it.
    1. Check that "Camera access for this device" is on. Select "Change" if it is off.
    2. Check that "Allow apps to access your camera" is on.
    3. Check that "Allow desktop apps to access your camera" is on.
  3. In the search bar, type "Microphone Privacy Settings," and select it.
    1. Check that "Microphone access for this device" is on. Select "Change" if it is off.
    2. Check that "Allow apps to access your microphone" is on.
    3. Check that "Allow desktop apps to access your microphone" is on.


 

iPhone / iPad

Enable your camera and microphone on your iOS device. 

  1. Open Settings, then select "Privacy."
  2. Select "Microphone." Make sure ARC has permission to access your microphone.
  3. Return to "Privacy," and select "Camera." Make sure ARC has permission to access your camera.

Note: If you recently downloaded the ARC app, you may need to open ARC on your iOS device and start a call before trying these steps. 


Android

Enable your camera and microphone on your Android device. 

  1. Open Settings, then type "ARC" into the search bar at the top of your screen.
  2. Under "Apps & Notifications" select ARC. 
  3. Next, select "Permissions."
  4. You will see which features have been allowed and which features have been denied access. If a feature you'd like to use has been denied, such as "Camera," "Calendar," or "Microphone," simply select the feature and press "Allow only while using the app."  

 

Web Browser Support

 

 


Brave

General support for the Brave web browser. 

Support During a Meeting

  1. Click the camera/microphone icon next to the search bar at the top of your web browser.
  2. Select, "Always allow https://app.wearc.com to access your camera and microphone."
  3. Check that you have the correct input sources selected for your microphone and camera. 
  4. Then select "Done" and refresh the page.  

Brave Settings

  1. Select the 3 line icon in the top right corner of your Brave web browser. 

  2. From the drop down select, “Settings."

  3. Under settings, select "Privacy and security," then click on "Site and Shields Settings."
  4. Under preferences, click "Camera." Make sure "Sites can ask to use your camera" is selected. Also check that ARC isn't under the list of sites not allowed to use your camera.
  5. Return to site and shields settings, then click on "Microphone." Make sure "Sites can ask to use your camera" is selected. Also check that ARC isn't under the list of blocked sites.

Firefox

General support for the Firefox web browser. 

Support During a Meeting

  1. Click the camera/microphone icon to the left of the search bar at the top of your browser.
  2. Check that your camera and microphone are not blocked temporarily. 
  3. Make sure you have the correct input sources selected. You can check by clicking the settings icon in the lower left corner of your screen. 
  4. Once you're finished, refresh the page

Firefox Settings

  1. Select the 3 line icon in the top right corner of your Firefox web browser. 
  2. From the drop down select, “Settings” (or "Options.") Then select "Privacy and security" from the left side tab.
  3. Scroll down to "Permissions," and click on "Settings" next to "Camera." Check that "Block new requests asking to access your camera" is not selected, and "Save Changes."
  4. Click on "Settings" next to "Microphone." Check that "Block new requests asking to access your microphone" is not selected, and "Save Changes."

Google Chrome

General support for the Google Chrome web browser. 

Support During a Meeting

  1. Click the camera/microphone icon to the right of the search bar at the top of your browser.
  2. Select, "Always allow https://app.wearc.com to access your camera and microphone."
  3. Check that you have the correct input sources selected for your microphone and camera. 
  4. Then select "Done" and refresh the page.

Google Chrome Settings

  1. Select the 3 dot icon in the top right corner of your Google Chrome web browser. 

  2. From the drop down select, “Settings.

  3. Under settings, select "Privacy and security," then click on "Site Settings."
  4. Under permissions, click "Camera." Make sure "Sites can ask to use your camera" is selected. Also check that ARC isn't under the list of sites not allowed to use your camera.
  5. Return to site settings, then click on "Microphone." Make sure "Sites can ask to use your microphone" is selected. Also check that ARC isn't under the list of blocked sites.

Microsoft Edge

Support During a Meeting

  1. Click the camera/microphone icon to the right of the search bar at the top of your browser.
  2. Select, "Always allow https://app.wearc.com to access your camera and microphone."
  3. Check that you have the correct input sources selected for your microphone and camera. 
  4. Then select "Done" and refresh the page.  

Microsoft Edge Settings

  1. Select the 3 dot icon in the top right corner of your Edge web browser. 
  2. From the drop down select, “Settings," then click on "Cookies and Site Permissions" in the left side tab. 
  3. Under site permissions, select "Camera." Make sure that "Ask before accessing" is enabled. Also check that ARC isn't under the list of blocked sites.
  4. Return to site permissions, and select "Microphone." Make sure that "Ask before accessing" is enabled. Also check that ARC isn't under the list of blocked sites.

Opera

Support During a Meeting

  1. Click the camera/microphone icon to the left of the search bar at the top of your browser.
  2. If your camera and microphone are blocked, click "Clear This Setting and Reload."
  3. Under "app.wearc.com wants to use your microphone and camera." select "Allow."
  4. Refresh the page, if needed. 

Opera Settings

  1. Click the "Settings" icon in the left side tab, or press command-comma (,).
  2. Under "Privacy and security," click "Site Settings."
  3. Under "Permissions," click on "Camera." Make sure that "Ask before accessing" is enabled. Also check that ARC is not under the list of blocked sites. 
  4. Return to site settings, and click on "Microphone." Make sure that "Ask before accessing" is enabled. Also check that ARC is not under the list of blocked sites. 

Safari

General support for the Safari web browser. 

Support During a Meeting

  1. If refreshing the page doesn't prompt access to your camera and microphone, click on "Safari" in the browser menu at the top of the screen, then select "Preferences." 
  2. Next, click the "Websites" tab.
  3. Select either "Camera," "Microphone," or "Screen Sharing" in the left side tab. 
  4. Under "Currently Open Websites," make sure "app.wearc.com" is set to "Ask" or "Allow." 
  5. Finally, close the "Preferences" window and refresh the page.
